Sun Grid: fun with Astronomy

Wordless Wednesday . . .

Sun with grid
I found this in my archives. I did an Astronomy project in 2004 about calculating the rotation of the Sun by tracking sunspots. Taken with a Nikon digital camera attached to a slewing telescope with an H-Alpha filter.

Warning: never look at or take photos of the sun without the proper safety filters. It only takes moments to destroy your vision and your camera.

Ooops, meant 'toddler,' (tired freelancer) and thanks so much for the tips about the photographing the sun; it makes sense to know exactly what damage it can do. Much appreciated.

Have a great week!
