I love old things, my son and I go out looking for the oldest homes in our area and have found many. I like this photo, best to you.

This area has quite a few preserved old homes. This one is a rarely opened living history site, of sorts. But the park is open daily as are the picnic grove and period gardens. There is a reflection area under two overlapping trees with shade-loving plants and a wooden bench and rough-cut stone pavers.

You can almost see the history oozing from the logs eh? Imagine the people that lived there, how different theirs lives would have been from ours? Beautiful.

This is beautiful! I like the herb garden, too.

@chelle - The main floor is almost completely open and there is a tightly turned enclosed staircase to the second floor.

@daisy - Thanks for visiting. The gardens are the pet projects of two garden clubs. They collect period plants and then collect the seeds for future plantings. there is also an herb exchange in the fall.
